Welcome to the Da Vinci Chess Camp and Art Camp! Celebrate creativity and innovative thinking by using the Da Vinci exploratory techniques! Da Vinci was a famous artist, but he was also a scientist and an inventor. And did you know that Da Vinci was also interested in chess? And since chess is both a science and an art, Educational Chess is going to explore both subjects of chess and art through methods used by Da Vinci and combine it into a unique, informational and fresh concept titled the Da Vinci Chess and Art Camp.

Note: This is a half day chess and art camp, not a full-day camp.

SUBJECTS:

Each camp is five days long, and each camp day is three hours long.
Each three-hour camp day has two parts: the first part is dedicated to chess (an hour and a half), the second half is dedicated to art (an hour and a half).

CHESS: Serious chess education is offered at three levels: beginning, intermediate, and advanced.

- Beginning- students will learn the basics of chess- piece movement, value, mates, special rules.
-Intermediate- students will learn middle game strategies, opening principles, elements of chess, planning, notation.
-Advanced- students will learn advanced middle game strategies,
openings, end games, planning.

A tournament will be held and prizes will be awarded on the last day of the camp.
Students will learn by using an exploratory method, and in a fun manner. Interactive participation and team concepts will also be included.

ART: In the art part of the camp, students will explore different techniques used by Da Vinci- including perspective and anatomy.
Different art projects will be explored and created based on Da Vinci's methods of learning. All levels. Students' art projects may be published on the art gallery page of the Educational Chess web site.

All classes will be conducted in a fun and relaxing way, and in a safe environment.

DESCRIPTION OF CAMP:

Half day camp: choices are morning or afternoon sessions.
One week for each session- Monday-Friday. Can be taken several weeks in a row. The first part of the three-hour camp day is chess, the second is art.
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A FULL DAY CAMP

DaVinci Chess and Art Camp- For ages 6-18, two groups- kids and teens.
First part is chess- half hour of instruction, then practice by play and puzzles.
All levels. Tournament with prizes.
The second part of the class is art- exploring different techniques used by Da Vinci and materials and creating Da Vinci art projects.
