CHESS AND ART CLASSES DESCRIPTION AND INFORMATION
CHESS Class: Tuesdays from 4-5 pm, Board Room. Ages 6-14.
NEXT CHESS CLASS DATES: On a continuous basis. You can sign up for 1, 2, 4 or 8 lessons.
ART Class : Thursdays from 5:15-6:15 pm, Board Room. Ages 6-14.
NEXT ART CLASS DATES: On a continuous basis. You can sign up for 1, 2,4 or 8lessons.
Registration: please register and pay below. You need to register at least 24 hours in advance.CHESS and ART CLUB NIGHT- Casual play, art.
Chess sets will be provided, please bring your own art supplies.
FEES: Free for members of Bella Collina, and for students enrolled in the Educational Chess and/or Art program who are not members of Bella Collina, all others- $5/person - PAYABLE AT THE DOOR.
Tuesdays, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Board Room. Please e-mail 24 hous in advance to notify.

Three levels-beginning, intermediate, advanced
Beginning: basic rules of chess, basic checkmates;
Intermediate: middle game strategies, opening principles;
Advanced: openings, endgame techniques and more.

ART CLASS DESCRIPTION- click to open/closeThere are levels for all the students, starting with the basics, then moving on to the advanced levels.
Students are introduced to a variety of media and techniques with pencils, charcoals, pastels, then the wet media such as watercolor, acrylics, oils.
The students are also taught about the different ways of using the media. They start by learning how to create simple shapes with pencils and charcoal, and transform them into 3-dimensional shapes through the use of shading and color by using pastels.
The next level is about learning how to use colors and understand the primary and complimentary colors. The students use watercolors and learn different watercolor techniques and how to mix colors for a great-looking effect. Then, they learn how to use acrylics and oils, and how to achieve a finished realistic-looking paintingThere will also be learning from the great masters of art and about their techniques- such as Da Vinci, Renoir, and many others.
In addition, there will be a lot of art and multi-media projects that will stimulate their imagination and improve their problem-solving skills.
NOTE: These fees are for the Educational Chess/Art Club ONLY and separate from the Bella Collina membership fees.
